Employment Opportunities:

TENURE-TRACK POSITION:
Indiana University Northwest is searching for candidates for a tenure-track position in the Developmental Biology department. Please visit the HR website to view the most recent FACULTY position available in the Department of Biology:
http://www.iun.edu/~jobsnw/

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION:
The Division of Biology at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in the 2010/2011 academic year. We seek an outstanding individual who will establish a vigorous, extramurally funded research program within the area of pathogen-host interactions, specifically involving the study of viruses or eukaryotic parasites that infect humans and/or animals. A Ph.D. or equivalent and post-doctoral training are required.

A description of the position and additional information about the program are available at this link:

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION:
The Division of Biology of Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position beginning in the 2010-2011 academic year.  We seek an individual who will establish a strong, extramurally funded research program in the general area of bacterial pathogenesis microbiology or host-bacterial interactions.  The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate instruction in microbiology, as well as, graduate instruction in areas of interest.  A Ph.D. or equivalent and postdoctoral training are required.

A description of the position and additional information about the program are available at this link:

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION:
The Department of Microbiology at The Ohio State University has initiated a search for two new Assistant Professors.

The Department currently has 15 primary and 8 adjunct faculty members. It is an established program with research strengths in microbial physiology, genetics, gene expression, pathogenic mechanisms and RNA biology, and highly subscribed teaching programs for both undergraduate and graduate students. It will also be participating in new campus-wide initiatives in the areas of Energy and the Environment, Center for Microbial Interface Biology and the newly established RNA Center.

A description of the position and additional information about the faculty and the program are available at this link: http://www.osumicrobiology.org/index.htm.

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE:
Antibiotic Resistance in Gram-positive bacteria.
Funding available immediately for an outstanding postdoctoral research associate to investigate the genetic and molecular basis of antibiotic resistance in the Gram-positive bacterium and opportunistic pathogen, Enterococcus faecalis. Experience with recombinant DNA techniques, molecular biology, and bacterial genetics or physiology/biochemistry is highly desirable, but the main criterion for selection is scientific excellence. The laboratory is located in a new facility at the Medical College of Wisconsin, which is routinely ranked among the top 10 academic institutions in the nation for postdoctoral training by surveys in the Scientist magazine. Interested individuals are asked to send a current CV including the names of 3 references, and a brief statement of interest and career plans to Dr. Chris Kristich, Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Medical College of Wisconsin, 8701 Watertown Plank Rd, Milwaukee WI 53226, or by email to: ckristich@mcw.edu.
